A Study on the Moderating Effect of Negative Affectivity of Employed with Mental Illness on the Relation between Psychological Empowerment and Job Satisfaction

Abstract
It requires to introduce the strategy of psychological empowerment in order to motivate the employed with mental illness to work, to adapt rapidly at work place, and execute their potentials. The purpose of this study was to introduce the concept of psychological empowerment, which has been applied already at vocational rehabilitation in the western society, to the field of vocational rehabilitation of employed with mental illness, and was to examine the moderationg effect of negative affectivity on the relation between psychological empowerment and job satisfaction perceived by employed with mental illness. The result of the multiple regression analysis and hierarchical moderationg regression analysis showed that the empowerment perceived by employed with mental illness have significant effects on their job satisfaction. The result of examining the interaction effects between the psychological empowerment and the job satisfaction (three-stage regression equation) by adding negative affectivity as situational variable showed that the R©÷ value was 43.6% for model 1, 48.2% for model 2, and 52.1% for model 3. The significant probability of model 3 was showed to be significant, indicating that it has moderationg effect. These resutls have important implication in suggesting the practice and interventional methods for individual and organizational empowerment in work place.
